If you do not agree with these policies, unfortunately you cannot enroll in our online school or use any part of our website. You must accept these terms when you first enter our school.

For clarity, the word “school” refers to the online school or study platform where all the courses are hosted, and “marcelaburgos.com” or “website” refers to the site that hosts both the school and the rest of the website content. We will use the words “you” and “student” to refer to students, participants, subscribers, or users of the website.

Your information

The information you leave us with your registration or subscription allows us to provide you a better service and it will never be sold, transferred, exchanged, shared or delivered to another company for any reason without your explicit consent. Your e-mail address will be used exclusively by us to send you relevant messages regarding your purchase, newsletter or notifications of the online school.

Intellectual Property Rights

marcelaburgos.com owns all intellectual property rights to the contents of its website, including texts, images, illustrations, and documents. You must respect and understand that all material found in the school and the rest of the website is protected by copyright. It is strictly prohibited to copy, reproduce, sell, transmit, distribute, republish, modify, share, or display any material for any purpose, whether commercial or non-commercial, without prior written authorization from marcelaburgos.com.

Use and private access to the school

Students may share their final products (soaps or cosmetics made in class) with friends and family. However, the lessons and access to the school are strictly for the exclusive use of the enrolled student.

If you share your login access with one or more people, or if multiple people use a single enrollment, the school’s security system will detect it. Only the use of two IP addresses is allowed. A third IP address will cause automatic cancellation of access. Violation of this condition will result in the cancellation of your access without any refund.

Teachers and workshops

If you are teaching, or planning to teach, the same topics covered in the school courses; if you have a blog with free classes, downloadable documents, magazines, a free forum, or a social group to share material; or if you are working on a book, digital magazine, documents, podcasts, videos, PowerPoints, or any other educational presentations, please note:

You are NOT allowed to share, reproduce, or teach any of my publications, courses, classes, or magazines (digital or print). You may not share or teach the same topics or parts of the topics, nor any of the documents, files, videos, magazines, or presentations from my classes, nor materials discussed in the forums.

This prohibition exists to prevent conflicts of interest and the potential misuse of school material, including unauthorized copying of intellectual work published on this website. Any student who violates this condition will lose access to the school without any refund and may be subject to legal action for copyright infringement.

Independent and creative artists work very hard to make a living from our craft, and it is unfair to “give away” in a free download what has taken months to create. You are welcome to teach and share knowledge you have assimilated, as well as material created with your own words, hands, and experiences — but please, do not copy the school.

Forum

Some courses include personalized tutoring through the forums. These forums are spaces where students ask questions and teachers respond.

Due to the number of forums, the average response time is about one week (on business days). If the teacher is away on a trip, a substitute teacher will answer, or the teacher will respond upon return, taking the necessary time to handle accumulated questions.

Access to the consultation forums of each course is limited to the months of tutoring included in the course price. Please be mindful of your registration expiration date and manage your time to make the most of the consultancy. If you require more time, you may extend your access to consultancy for an additional cost.

Access to study materials (course videos, documents, glossaries, directories, etc.) is unlimited and available 24/7.

Refunds

Refunds will only be issued if the school decides to cancel a course.

If a student wishes to cancel their enrollment, the school may provide a valid voucher for another course or workshop only if classes have not yet started or if the student has never accessed the course they enrolled in.

Once you have accepted the terms and accessed your course, no refunds will be granted. If you have doubts about the content of a course, please contact us before enrolling.

Language and behaviour

The school promotes good manners and respectful behaviour in its community and forums, since many participants come from different cultures, countries, ages, and ideologies.

Our space is dedicated exclusively to manual arts, soaps, and natural cosmetics. Students post pictures of their work and share experiences. It is strictly forbidden to use or copy pictures posted by other students or teachers without proper authorization.

Violent, offensive, or inappropriate language or images are not permitted.

Termination of Agreement

marcelaburgos.com reserves the right to:

• Admit or deny enrollment in classes.

• Cancel an enrollment.

• Suspend access to the school or subscriptions for any user or student who violates these terms and conditions or behaves inappropriately.

This may be done at our sole discretion, without notice, and without liability.

marcelaburgos.com also reserves the right to suspend access to the monthly recipes of the Soap Lovers Club, or cancel a subscription, for any user who violates these terms. We may also suspend, modify, or terminate the services of the Soap Lovers Club at our sole discretion at any time, with or without notice, without being liable to you or any third party.

Acceptance of conditions

By enrolling in an online course and/or using our website, you acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions.
